Marie Séraphine Heck

Marie Séraphine Heck was born on June 1, 1893, in Lasauvage, Luxembourg. A devoted mother and housewife, she was arrested in 1944 for aiding young men in evading Nazi conscription. Marie was ultimately sent to the Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she died on April 6, 1945, just weeks before the camp's liberation. Her bravery and sacrifice exemplify the vital yet often overlooked role of women in the resistance against Nazi occupation.
