Marie-Thérèse Petit

Marie-Thérèse Petit was a Bordeaux-based midwife who, alongside her husband Jacques Petit, spent several decades in various African countries, including Gabon, Togo, and Niger, between 1947 and 1982. Upon her passing in 2022, she bequeathed a significant collection of 64 African cultural artifacts, valued at over 30,000 euros, to the city of Bordeaux, which has sparked discussions on the restitution of these items to Gabon.
