Mariela Navarro

Mariela Navarro is a resident of El Matazano in the Cabañas department of El Salvador, who is actively participating in a home gardening initiative that emphasizes agroecological practices to enhance food security. Through this project, she is learning how to cultivate various vegetables such as scallions, radishes, cilantro, cucumbers, and melons alongside her son, enabling them to support their family sustainably. Mariela reflects on her previous experiences with school gardens, expressing a newfound understanding of agricultural practices that promote environmental health and community well-being.
