Marija Alyokhina

Marija Alyokhina is a prominent member of the Russian punk rock group Pussy Riot, known for her activism and bold protests against the Russian government. She gained international attention in 2012 when she and other members were arrested for staging a performance in Moscow's Christ the Savior Cathedral, which was seen as a critique of President Vladimir Putin. Alyokhina has continued to advocate for human rights and freedom of expression, particularly in response to the ongoing war in Ukraine. Recently, she was sentenced to 8 to 13 years in prison for charges related to 'military forgery'.
