Marija Jovićević has been appointed as the new director of the Komunalno Budva company, marking a significant return for the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) to leadership after nine years. An economic sciences graduate from Budva, Jovićević faces the challenge of overseeing a company burdened with significant debts and operational difficulties. Her previous experience includes working in the Insurance Market Supervision Agency, where she focused on monitoring insurance companies and preventing money laundering. She has also represented Montenegro in the Council of Europe and has held positions in public enterprises related to marine property management. Jovićević aims to not only stabilize the financially troubled company but also enhance the public image of Budva, particularly after the city faced criticism for poor waste management during the previous summer tourist season.
