Marija Šeme Baričevič

Marija Šeme Baričevič, born in 1927, was a pioneering television director in Slovenia who made significant contributions to the country's television landscape. After studying acting at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana, she honed her directing skills in Rome and became known for her work on children's series and cultural programs. Notably, her series 'Slovenski ljudski plesi' and politically sensitive works like 'Ciklamen' showcased her versatility and talent. She was honored as an honorary member of the Society of Slovenian Directors in 2021, recognizing her role in paving the way for future female directors in Slovenia.
