Marija Zogović

Marija Zogović is a pioneering mountaineer from Montenegro, known for making history as the first person from her country to summit Ama Dablam, one of the most beautiful and challenging peaks in the Himalayas. A 43-year-old graduate economist, she has dedicated her career to promoting healthy lifestyles among youth through her work at the Office for the Prevention of Substance Abuse in Podgorica. For Marija, the mountains represent both a remedy and a sense of freedom. Her ascent of Ama Dablam was not only a personal achievement but also an emotional journey in memory of her mother, who she lost 24 years ago.
