
Mário Montenegro
Mário Montenegro is a Portuguese actor, director, and playwright known for his innovative approach to theater that integrates scientific themes. He holds a degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Aveiro, a master's degree in Dramatic Text from the University of Porto, and a PhD in Artistic Studies from the University of Coimbra. Since founding and directing the Marionet theater company in 2000, he has directed over 40 productions and participated in several as an actor. His works include notable publications such as 'A Expressão das Emoções' and adaptations of classic literature. Montenegro is also an educator, teaching in the Artistic Studies program at the University of Coimbra and engaging in interdisciplinary research at the university's Interdisciplinary Studies Center. He previously served as the deputy director of the Teatro Académico de Gil Vicente from 2015 to 2017.
