Māris Pļaviņš

Māris Pļaviņš has been appointed as the acting president of the Latvian Medical Association (LĀB) following the death of Ilze Aizsilniece. Previously serving as the vice president since 2006, Pļaviņš is a seasoned nephrologist and has been a long-term board member of LĀB. He also held the position of director and chairman of the board at Paula Stradiņa Clinical University Hospital from 1999 to 2006. His recent appointment aims to ensure continuity and better governance for the association during this transitional phase.
