The couple was attending a special event featuring renowned merengue singer Rubby Pérez when the roof unexpectedly fell, resulting in a catastrophic loss of life. Marisol was trapped under debris but remained resilient, demonstrating extraordinary strength and hope. After her rescue, she expressed gratitude for their survival while mourning the loss of many friends who perished in the disaster.
