Mark van Heukelum

Mark van Heukelum is a Dutch ecologist known for his innovative conservation project, Visdeurbel, which allows people worldwide to assist in the migration of fish through a system that involves live-streaming a sluice gate in Utrecht. Since its inception in 2021, the initiative has transformed fish migration into a global phenomenon, enabling millions to participate in conservation efforts by simply pressing a button when they spot fish waiting to cross, thereby facilitating their passage.
