Markus Arfert

Markus Arfert is a talented Swedish kendo practitioner who recently made history by winning Sweden's first European Championship gold medal in kendo in 32 years. Born on August 3, 1998, in Farsta, Stockholm, he has dedicated much of his life to the sport, training rigorously while also working as a nurse. His journey in kendo began at the age of ten, and he has since achieved a third dan ranking in the martial art. Arfert's victory in the finals against Britain's James Wright showcased not only his skill but also the deep camaraderie he shares with his teammates, highlighting the strong sense of community within the sport.
