Marlon Pérez was a renowned Colombian cyclist, celebrated for his extensive contributions to the sport. Born in 1976, he made his mark in cycling as the junior world champion in the points race in 1994 and represented Colombia at the Olympic Games in 1996, 2000, and 2004. Pérez also earned a gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games. Tragically, he was murdered on October 3, 2024, in El Carmen de Viboral, Antioquia, leaving a significant void in the cycling community.
