
Marouene Labib
Marouene Labib is a Tunisian filmmaker known for his bold cinematic vision and emotional storytelling. He studied cinema in Belgium and later earned a master's degree in writing and directing from the Ecole supérieure de l’audiovisuel et du cinéma in Tunis. His debut short film, 'Leni Africo,' set in Tripoli in 2013, explores themes of migration and compassion through the story of a foreign priest helping refugees. Labib's work has been recognized at various film festivals, winning the Grand Prix for Best Short Film at the 12th International Arab Film Festival in Oran in 2024 and the Best Director award at the 13th Dakhla International Film Festival in 2025.
