Marta Castany

Marta Castany is an ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma at Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona. In response to the increasing prevalence of myopia and its associated complications, she co-founded the Myopia Unit in 2024, aimed at fostering collaboration between retina and glaucoma specialists to provide a more holistic approach to patient care. Her efforts focus on early detection and treatment of glaucoma, which can often go unnoticed until advanced stages, in order to prevent significant vision loss.
