
Marta Sudraba
Marta Sudraba was a renowned Latvian cellist, born on March 27, 1975, and passed away on July 13, 2025, in Vienna, Austria. She completed her education at the Emīls Dārziņš Rīga Music Secondary School in 1993 and graduated from the Latvian Academy of Music in 1997. Sudraba furthered her studies in London and obtained a master's degree from the Basel Music Academy in 2000. She was a key member of the Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra, serving as the concertmaster of the cello section, and joined the Gidon Kremer Trio in 1998. In 2007, she released a solo album titled 'Ex Animo' and performed with various orchestras both in Latvia and internationally, prominently featuring with the Vienna Philharmonic.
