Martha Stoppard

Martha Stoppard was the mother of acclaimed playwright Tom Stoppard and played a significant role in his early life, having fled from Czechoslovakia during World War II with her Jewish family. After the war, she remarried a British officer and settled in England, where she supported her son's artistic career.
