Martín de Porres

Martín de Porres was a Peruvian Dominican friar born in Lima in 1579, known for his deep compassion and dedication to helping the poor and sick. He was canonized by Pope John XXIII on May 6, 1962, making him the first mulatto saint of the Americas.
