Martin Sweeney
Martin Sweeney is a retired local government official from Dublin who was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the age of 49 after a routine PSA blood test. His diagnosis came as a shock, as he was fit and showed no symptoms. Following a radical prostatectomy that successfully removed the cancer, Martin faced significant mental health challenges, including depression and issues related to urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction. He has since dedicated himself to prostate cancer patient advocacy, working to raise awareness and support for other patients and their partners.
