Martina Barreiro

Martina Barreiro is a talented Uruguayan handball player, known for her role as a left wing and her recent success with the Salerno handball team in Italy, where she helped the club secure the Scudetto, marking their tenth championship title. In addition to her athletic achievements, Barreiro has recently completed a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of the Basque Country, focusing her thesis on the application of surface electromyography in sports. With a passion for both athletics and academia, she aims to contribute to the growth of women's sports in Uruguay as the national team prepares for the upcoming World Championship.
