Martins Emeje

Prof. Martins Emeje is the Director-General of the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA) and a prominent figure in the field of pharmacy and herbal medicine. He has been instrumental in the development of indigenous herbal products aimed at addressing major health challenges in Nigeria, such as cancers and hepatitis B. Emeje also serves as Co-Chair of the World Health Organisation’s Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine, highlighting his commitment to advancing the science and standardisation of herbal medicines. Recently, he played a key role in the unveiling of seven new herbal medicines, emphasizing the potential of local pharmaceutical innovation in Nigeria.
