Mary Anderson

Mary Anderson was an American entrepreneur who invented the windshield wiper in 1903, after observing how New York tram drivers struggled to see through snow and rain. Her innovative design, which featured a lever inside the vehicle controlling a rubber blade outside, revolutionized automobile safety and became standard in the industry by 1916.
