Mary O'Rourke

Mary O'Rourke is an Irish politician who served as a member of the Oireachtas, representing the Fianna Fáil party. Notably, she held the position of Minister for Public Enterprise from 1997 to 2002, during which she oversaw significant changes in the telecommunications sector, including the flotation of Telecom Éireann in 1999. This event was meant to promote shareholder democracy in Ireland but ultimately left many investors with losses.
