Maryjane is the owner of a café in Kaitāia who has taken significant steps to address hidden homelessness in her community by offering free meals through her initiative, Koha Mondays. Observing an increase in homelessness and individuals foraging for food due to rising living costs, she has dedicated her efforts to ensure that anyone in need can enjoy a warm, nutritious meal without the burden of cost. With the support of local donations, Maryjane's café serves around 30 to 40 people each week, creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.
