Masiye Phiri

Masiye Phiri, also 31 years old, died after being charged by a bull elephant while tending to her garden with her two-year-old child. Her death is one of several incidents prompting local communities to seek legal action against the International Fund for Animal Welfare (Ifaw) for the relocation of elephants that has led to increased human-wildlife conflict.
