Mateo Mekachi

Mateo Mekachi is the head of the Election Observation Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) for local elections in North Macedonia. Recently, he emphasized the importance of observing not just the election day but also the pre-election and post-election processes. Under his leadership, the mission comprises 250 international observers monitoring various aspects of the electoral process across the country. Mekachi has highlighted the significance of assessing voter registration, campaign financing, media access, and vote counting, ensuring that the elections adhere to international standards.
