Mateyo Mkhuta Banda

Mateyo Mkhuta Banda is the Executive Director of Youth Watch Society (YOWSO), a prominent local NGO in Malawi. He has been vocal about the need for civil society organizations to adapt to the changing funding landscape by focusing on local resource mobilization, particularly as international donors withdraw. Banda recently commended the Non-Governmental Organization Regulatory Authority (NGORA) for organizing NGO day celebrations in Mzuzu, which aims to showcase the work of northern NGOs and facilitate knowledge sharing among civil society, government, and development partners.
