Matjaž Švagan

Matjaž Švagan is the mayor of Zagorje ob Savi, Slovenia. Recently, he was in the news due to the conclusion of an investigation by the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (KPK), which dismissed allegations of irregularities related to public funding and land sales that implicated him. Švagan maintained that he acted transparently and legally in his role and claimed that the anonymous accusations were politically motivated attempts at personal discreditation. The KPK's findings affirmed that there were no grounds to support the allegations against him.
