Matthias Balzat

At just 26 years old, Matthias Balzat has made a significant mark in the classical music scene as the newest member of NZTrio, one of New Zealand's premier chamber music ensembles. Despite his youth, Balzat's musical journey began early; he started university at the age of 14. He has studied under the renowned cellist Pieter Wispelwey and is known for his ability to engage with diverse musical ideas, contributing to the trio's adventurous repertoire.
