Maureen Cherotich

Maureen Cherotich, a 24-year-old nurse at the Tenwek Cardiothoracic Centre in Bomet County, is a heart disease survivor who underwent two life-saving open-heart surgeries due to rheumatic heart disease. Inspired by her experiences, she pursued a career in nursing to support others facing similar health challenges. She graduated in 2023 with a degree in community nursing and is dedicated to being a beacon of hope for heart patients. Cherotich aims to specialize in cardiac nursing to improve care for patients, motivated by the compassion she received during her treatment.
