
Maurizio Flaminio Landini
Maurizio Flaminio Landini, born in 1961, is an influential Italian trade unionist and the current secretary general of the CGIL, Italy's largest trade union. Growing up in a working-class family, Landini had to leave school at a young age to work as a welder, which deeply informed his commitment to workers' rights. He rose through the ranks of the FIOM, the metalworkers' federation, eventually becoming its leader in 2005 and later taking the helm of CGIL in 2019. Known for his strong stance on labor issues and social justice, Landini has been a prominent figure in Italian politics, advocating for workers' rights and engaging in significant confrontations with major industrial leaders.
