Maximilian Haushofer

Maximilian Haushofer was an influential figure in the 19th century, known for his role in discovering the picturesque Fraueninsel in Chiemsee as a painting motif in 1828. His love for the island and its local charm, as well as for the daughter of the tavern keeper, marked the beginning of a new artistic era in the region.
