Mazumder is a nuclear scientist leading a team at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) that has developed a handheld scanner utilizing X-ray fluorescence technology to combat seafood fraud and mislabeling, enabling the identification of the elemental signatures of fish and other seafood products.
