Mehdi Dahkan
Mehdi Dahkan is a Moroccan choreographer and dancer born in 1998 in Tangier, currently based in Lyon. His artistic practice interrogates constructed behaviors and ideologies within contemporary Maghreb society, utilizing the body as a medium for exploration. Initially influenced by urban movement forms such as breakdance and parkour, Dahkan has transitioned into contemporary dance, collaborating with various choreographers and companies, including Sylvain Groud, Khalid Benghrib, Radouan Mriziga, and Samar Haddad King. His recent work, 'KMs of Resistance,' examines the act of breathing as a form of resistance and collective action, particularly in contexts where direct expression is stifled.
