Mei Jingtian is an octogenarian resident of Shixia Village in Beijing, known as a pioneer in the preservation of the Great Wall. Since the 1980s, he has dedicated himself to cleaning up debris, discouraging vandalism, and creating patrol paths through the thorny landscape. He founded Beijing's first farmer-led organization for Great Wall conservation, inspiring over 80 villagers to join his mission to protect this historic landmark.
