Menczer Gusztáv
Menczer Gusztáv was a prominent Hungarian political prisoner who spent time in one of the Soviet Union's most notorious labor camps, Kolyma. He founded the Szovjetunióban volt magyar politikai Rabok és Kényszermunkások Szervezete (SZORAKÉSZ) in 1988 to support victims of political repression and their families, serving as its president until his death in 2011. He was also notable for being the first Hungarian to research and document the fates of the Hungarians deported to the Gulag, bringing home vital records of the first 70,000 Hungarian prisoners.
