Merle Robbins
Merle Robbins was an American barber of Hungarian descent who is best known for creating the popular card game UNO in the early 1970s. He developed the game in his Ohio home with his family and initially sold it out of his barber shop. After recognizing its potential, Robbins and his family produced a small run of the game, which led to its explosive growth in popularity and eventual acquisition by Mattel in 1992.
