Mette Baungaard

Mette Baungaard is the area manager for the Climate, Environment, and Technical Administration in Copenhagen Municipality. Recently, she gained attention for confirming the first discovery of oak processionary moth caterpillars, known as 'larver fra helvede' or 'larvae from hell', in Copenhagen. Baungaard is leading the municipality's efforts to combat these caterpillars, which pose health risks due to their irritating hairs. She expressed the municipality's preparedness to tackle the situation after the species was found in multiple oak trees on Amager Fælled.
