Michael Bentine
Michael Bentine was a British comedian, actor, and writer, best known for his work in entertainment after World War II. He served in the Royal Air Force during the war and was one of the first soldiers to witness the horrors of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp upon its liberation in April 1945. His experiences at the camp deeply affected him, leading him to describe Belsen as 'the ultimate blasphemy.' Bentine later gained fame for his television shows, particularly 'The Goon Show,' which helped shape British comedy.
