Michal Kompan

Michal Kompan is a prominent Slovak scientist and the scientific director of the Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies (KInIT). He has been instrumental in advancing artificial intelligence research in Slovakia, particularly through the lorAI project, which aims to enhance the development of large language models for the Slovak language and improve various AI applications. Under his leadership, the institute has focused on ethical technology use and fostering collaboration between the academic, business, nonprofit, and public sectors to tackle global challenges in AI, especially for languages with limited resources.
