Michalis Kakkalos, a seasoned mountaineer from Litohoro, first climbed Mount Mytikas at the age of 13 and has since dedicated his life to exploring and preserving the mountain's rich terrain. Now 75, he has volunteered in rescue operations since the 1980s and is keenly aware of the dangers that the mountain can pose to unprepared hikers.
