Mihail Gerjikov

Mihail Gerjikov (1877–1962) was a prominent Macedonian teacher, anarchist, and revolutionary who played a significant role in the Macedonian liberation movement in the early 20th century. He was instrumental in organizing secret committees and educational activities that mobilized Macedonian youth for the struggle against Ottoman rule. Gerjikov established connections with European anarchist and syndicalist networks to procure weapons and disseminate propaganda in support of the Macedonian cause. He is known for merging anarchist ideals with the national liberation aspirations of the Macedonian people, creating practical organizational methods that influenced future generations of freedom fighters. Gerjikov's revolutionary activities positioned him as a strong opponent of Bulgarian nationalist policies regarding Macedonia, advocating for an independent Macedonian state within a broader Balkan federation.
