Mihailo Petrović

Mihailo Petrović, better known as Deda Panta, is a 70-year-old man who has chosen to live in isolation as a modern-day hermit on the Stara Planina mountain in southern Serbia. After spending years working abroad as a marine technician in France, he returned to Serbia seeking a simpler life, ultimately abandoning urban living for a cave home he built himself. Deda Panta finds solace in nature, dedicating his time to feeding birds and enjoying the tranquility that comes with solitude, far removed from the chaos of city life. His lifestyle reflects a deep philosophical belief that freedom can be found away from societal constraints, and he often speaks about the corrupting influence of money. His story has drawn attention, particularly after a visit from humanitarian Tamara Misirlić, who described a poignant encounter with him.
