Mike Greenwell was a former Major League Baseball player, best known for his career with the Boston Red Sox, where he played from 1985 to 1996. Born in Kentucky and raised in Florida, he earned the nickname 'Gator' for his wrestling antics with alligators. Greenwell was a two-time All-Star and won a Silver Slugger award, finishing second in the 1988 American League MVP voting. He amassed over 1,400 hits, 130 home runs, and a lifetime batting average of .303. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 62 after a battle with thyroid cancer.
