Mikel Llorente

Mikel Llorente was a 38-year-old mountain guard from Bilbao, Spain, who tragically died after falling over 300 meters while attempting to ascend the Rusell Oriental peak in the Posets-Maladeta National Park. He had dedicated his life to the mountains, working at the Cap de Llauset refuge, one of the highest in the Pyrenees, situated at more than 2,400 meters above sea level. His death marks a significant loss in the mountain community, highlighting the dangers of climbing during changing weather conditions prevalent in the region.
