Milan Dekleva

Milan Dekleva (1946) is a celebrated Slovenian writer and musician known for his extensive literary contributions, which have earned him numerous accolades, including the Prešeren Award for lifetime achievement. He co-founded the band Salamander over fifty years ago with Tomaž Pengov, and the group made a notable return to the Slovenian music scene just before the COVID-19 pandemic. Salamander's debut album, released this year, showcases a blend of ancient and modern influences, demonstrating Dekleva's commitment to improvisational tradition in music.
