
Mile Novaković
Mile Novaković is a former head of the Criminal Police Directorate in Serbia, known for his significant role in investigating organized crime during the early 2000s, including the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić. Born in 1953 in Prijepolje, he graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Belgrade and joined the police force in 1976. He led various operations against drug trafficking and organized crime, notably heading the 'Poskok' task force that targeted the Zemun clan post-2000. During the investigation of Đinđić's assassination in 2003, he served as an assistant to the police chief and was instrumental in the subsequent police operation 'Sablja.' After serving as the head of the Criminal Police Department, he transitioned to leading the Border Police Department until his retirement in 2006.
