Miltiádész
Miltiades (c. 550 – 489 BC) was an Athenian general best known for his decisive victory at the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC during the Greco-Persian Wars. His leadership and tactical innovations were instrumental in the Athenian victory against a vastly larger Persian force, which became a symbol of Greek unity and resistance against tyranny. However, following his military successes, Miltiades faced political challenges and was eventually tried and imprisoned due to accusations of failure in a subsequent campaign, leading to his untimely death in custody. His legacy endures as a key figure in the history of democracy and military strategy.
