Miodrag Grbić

Dr. Miodrag Grbić is a renowned geneticist specializing in molecular biology and entomology, currently residing in Tivat, Montenegro. He has made significant contributions to agricultural genomics and is known for sequencing the genome of the agricultural pest Tetranychus urticae. A prominent academic, he serves as an associate professor at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and has held visiting professor positions at several universities, including in Serbia and Spain. Recently, he made headlines by returning the Order of Karađorđe's Star, which he received from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, in protest against government policies undermining academic freedom and the integrity of the University of Belgrade.
