Mira Rakočević was a courageous woman from Donjomora, Montenegro, who became a symbol of female bravery during the Mojkovac battle in January 1916. Defying the dangers of war, she transported four crates of ammunition on her back through hostile terrain, under enemy fire, to support her compatriots, an act of heroism that remained unrecognized for decades. Her story, largely overshadowed by the male narratives of war, was rediscovered by her descendants through an old photograph, revealing her significant contribution to the battle and the unspoken sacrifices of women during wartime.
